The Art of Leading Change course is a proven roadmap that will maximize your success.

Hi, I’m Carey Nieuwhof, Best-Selling Leadership Author, Podcaster, Speaker, and former Attorney.

Throughout my 25+ years in leadership, I’ve noticed that change is a loaded topic.

Why? Because we all know what’s at stake…

The gap between how quickly you change and how quickly things change is called irrelevance.

It happens faster than you think, and it often happens despite a leader’s best intentions. When leaders fail to implement change successfully:

  • Entire organizations are derailed
  • Leadership teams burn out
  • Relationships get torn apart
  • High-capacity teams become paralyzed

Simply put, change is important because the very life and relevance of your organization are at stake.

Yet change freezes so many leaders.

Why is leading change so difficult?

Why do even the most capable leaders get paralyzed by it?

What can you do to overcome the barriers that stand between you and leading a more impactful organization?

Don’t Let False Beliefs Hold You Back.

What we believe about leading change.

What’s true about leading change.

“Opposition means I’m doing something wrong.”

Opposition almost always means you’re doing something right

We feel like we’re doing something wrong because nobody teaches us how to respond to opposition, and nobody talks about its impact on us as a leader.

The best way to elicit zero opposition is to do nothing significant. All worthy change draws opposition.

“Change creates the circumstances for failure.”

Sure, there are unknowns when it comes to change. You can’t be 100% sure that a change will be a success.

But, I can assure you this. You will become irrelevant if you don’t change.

Here’s the key: Once you have a framework for change—one that makes navigating change and overcoming opposition easy—you don’t need to be 100% sure that your change will be a success.

You’ll know exactly what risks to take and how to respond if it doesn’t work out. (More on this below.)

“Opposition derails change.”

99% of the time, it’s simply the fear of opposition that derails the change.

We psych ourselves out before we even start and let the fear of what could happen stand in the way of what should be.

“People are opposed to change.”

There isn’t a certain type of person that’s opposed to change.

Each of us resists change at times, and typically, people resist it for one of these two reasons:

  • Not having a clearly articulated vision of the preferred future
  • They oppose changes that they didn’t think of

Both are obstacles that can be overcome with the right toolset.

“I just don’t think I’m cut out for it.”

It’s easy to think that some leaders naturally have ‘it’… some ability to lead and manage change.

But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Leading change does take a specific skill set and some nuance.

The good news? These skills can be practiced and learned.

Nobody teaches us how to navigate change or respond to opposition. It’s no wonder that it scares so many leaders.

But when you have the right frameworks, strategies, and skills, change can be easy. Change can be empowering.

And more importantly, you can take your mission far beyond where it is today.

The wrong ways to lead change and respond to opposition.

Because we’ve had these experiences before,
we’re left wondering…

How do I know which risks are worth taking and which aren’t?

Who needs to hear about the change? When do people need to hear about it?

How do I get the right people onboard… and how do I know when it’s okay to leave some people behind?

What do I do about the backlash? I don’t want people I care about turning against me.

Who should have input in the process? Who can I trust?

What do I do when I’m faced with opposition?

How do I develop the strength to keep pushing, even when it feels like everyone is working against me?

The Art of Leading Change course is your step-by-step guide to making the right changes and implementing them successfully.

There is a way to lead change without becoming irrelevant and without blowing your organization apart.

YOUR GUIDE

Hi, I’m Carey Nieuwhof. I’ve been leading change in churches and organizations for over 25 years.

If you think change is impossible in your organization, think again.

In The Art of Leading Change, I share the principles that helped me effectively lead our church through:

  • A 180º shift in preaching style and ministry model.
  • A complete shift in vision to become a church that unchurched people love.
  • The sale of three historic buildings and the move into an elementary school to accommodate growth.
  • A full overhaul and redesign of all church governance and a new constitution.
  • Rapid growth (from a handful of people to thousands of people) and the construction of two new facilities.
  • A shift in emphasis to online ministry long before the pandemic.
  • And much more…

The best part? Most of the people we started with stayed with us through the change. Many became raving fans of the change.

In The Art of Leading Change, you’ll get the templates, strategies, and principles that will help you lead your church or organization to exactly where you’re called to be.

It’s finally time to stop letting your dreams die. Enroll in the Art of Leading Change today.
