Breaking 200 Without Breaking You

3 Insights from This Episode

1. The bravest prayer is the one you never give up on

The bravest prayer is the one that is asked for again and again. Having an As Long As It Takes mentality offers learning experiences for personal growth while your example of faithfulness provides God the opportunity to show others what He can do for those who wait on Him.

2. Sometimes we can’t hear God because we’ve allowed other noises to deafen His voice

Is God the loudest voice in your life? Make sure that other voices, including your own self-talk, aren’t deafening your ears.

When you’re asking God to speak put yourself in a quiet space so you’re able to hear Him. Sometimes a change of pace, place and perspective can make all the difference.

3. Mark describes 7 Ways We Hear from God in his new book Whisper

Scripture – Scripture is the primary way God provides His voice to His people. Within the scriptures the following sources can be found:

Desires – If you are living by faith and in obedience; delighting yourself in the Lord, God can lead you through your desires.

Doors – Doors will open and close – those actions are a packaged deal. You can’t pray for one and not receive the other.

Dreams – The ability to envision the future and to dream about what tomorrow could look like is part of the image of God.

People – God uses trusted voices in prophetic ways to say the right things at the right times.

Promptings – When things line up in a way that’s providential over coincidental – you’re taking a cue from the spirit of God.

Pain – People can refrain from scripture by choosing not to read the Bible, but pain can’t be ignored. Sometimes it’s the only way to learn the lessons God is wanting to teach.
