    Carey, I think you might have missed the point of the guy and his wife & ministry support. I was listening in the car with my daughter, and both of us understood his question as, “The other youth ministry couples, both spouses are doing youth ministry, but my wife isn’t,” as opposed to, “My wife doesn’t want me to do youth ministry.” Maybe we both heard it wrong. If we heard it right, then he needs to understand that, just because God called him to it, doesn’t mean He called her to it, that each person has a different vocation. Anyway, I suggest you go back and listen to it. If it’s the latter, they don’t need counseling—he just needs to understand vocation. I personally recommend the book, _God at Work_ by Gene Vieth.

      Thanks Dale. I thought about that…maybe I did misread the question. I do think having couples supporting each other is critical. But I wonder if there’s something deeper under the question and that’s why I answered it the way I did. But I appreciate your point.
